Liverpool: Reds At Home To Everton In FA Cup

There will now be a third Merseyside derby this season...

Monday night's FA Cup third round draw has seen Liverpool paired with local rivals Everton in the standout tie of the round.

The two sides, who also meet at Anfield in the Premier League this weekend, last faced off in the competition in April 2012 when goals from Andy Carroll and Louis Suarez edged a semi-final at Wembley in favour of the Reds.

Previously, in February 2009, it was the Blues who emerged successful when a famous 118th minute Dan Gosling strike decided a fourth round replay at Goodison Park after the initial tie at Anfield had finished goalless.

Since then, the Toffees have beaten their illustrious neighbours only once - a home league fixture in October 2010 - in 17 attempts (D7, L9).

Their last win at Anfield, going into this Sunday's meeting at least, was 18 years ago in September 1999 when three red cards were brandished and defender Steve Staunton ended up in goal for the hosts.

All third round fixtures will be played between January 5 and 7 2018.
