Liverpool: Team News 17/18 - Brighton (Away)

Which players are likely to be unavailable when Liverpool take on Brighton & Hove Albion this weekend?...

Following his six changes for the 3-0 midweek win at Stoke City, Kop boss Jürgen Klopp, who has made 11 more selection changes than anyone else in the top-flight, is expected to make further alterations against Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday afternoon.

Discussing squad rotation with following the bet365 Stadium victory, Klopp remarked: "In football, you can do [what you want], the only thing then is you have to win.

"If you don't win they'll say it's wrong, if you win then they say it's a good idea. So we need to do that.

"I can't wait until [injuries] happen - it still will happen we can't avoid that it`s football, it's a contact sport and all that - but we need to use the whole squad."

Mohamed Salah, Philippe Coutinho and Jordan Henderson are the most likely players to be recalled to the first X1, while full-backs Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson could also be handed starts.

In terms of fitness, besides long-term absentee Nathaniel Clyne (back), Joël Matip has been ruled out, with Klopp revealing the centre-back felt "a muscle problem" after the Stoke match.

His absence will hopefully be offset by the return of Ragnar Klavan after illness, while Adam Lallana (unspecified muscle strain) is another being monitored.

Like the visitors, Brighton have few worries in the injury department with only experienced midfielder Steve Sidwell (back) missing.

Cameroonian defender Gaetan Bong is set to return to the Albion defence after a slight knee injury ruled the left-back out of Tuesday's 0-0 home draw against Crystal Palace.

Midfielder Beram Kayal and striker Sam Baldock are pushing for game time again after recent returns from a broken leg and calf surgery respectively.

Neither side has anyone absent through suspension.
