The lowdown on the man in the middle for Liverpool's hosting of Chelsea on Saturday...

The Premier League has announced the officiating teams who will be taking charge of top-flight fixtures during Matchweek 13 of 2017/18 season.

The players of Liverpool and Chelsea, who meet at Anfield for a 5.30pm GMT kick-off on Saturday, November 25, will be joined on the pitch by referee Michael Oliver.

Gary Beswick and Simon Bennett are his designated assistants, while Craig Pawson will be patrolling the technical areas in the role of fourth official.

Oliver's 13 previous games this season have yielded a total of 58 yellow cards and two red.

Unlike Liverpool, Chelsea have already crossed paths with the Ashington native this term; drawing 0-0 with Arsenal at Stamford Bridge on September 17 (five yellow cards and one red shown).

The Reds encountered Oliver on seven occasions during 2016/17; winning four, drawing two and losing one.

Overall, in his 44 matches refereed last term, the 32-year-old handed out a total of 138 yellow cards and five red.

His yellow card average finished at 3.13-per-game, with a red card shown every 8.8 matches.

Oliver is associated with the Northumberland Football Association and has been part of the Select Group of Premier League referees since 2010.

He was promoted to FIFA's list for European and International matches in 2012.
