Liverpool: Ref Watch 17/18 - Leicester City (Away)

The lowdown on the man in the middle for Liverpool's trip to Leicester City on Saturday...

The Premier League has announced the officiating teams who will be taking charge of top-flight fixtures during Matchweek 6 of 2017/18 season.

The players of Liverpool and Leicester City, who meet at the King Power Stadium for a 5.30pm BST kick-off on Saturday, September 23, will be joined on the pitch by referee Anthony Taylor.

Gary Beswick and Adam Nunn are his designated assistants, while Bobby Madley will be patrolling the technical areas in the role of fourth official.

Taylor's six previous games this season, which include Liverpool's opening day 3-3 draw at Watford (three yellow cards shown, all to Liverpool), have yielded a total of 20 yellow cards and zero reds.

During 2016/17 the Reds encountered the 38-year-old on five occasions, remaining undefeated with three wins and two draws.

Leicester also had a decent record in games officiated by Taylor last season; winning two and losing one of their three outings under him.

Overall, in his 41 matches refereed, the Manchester native handed out a total of 161 yellow cards and five red.

His yellow card average finished at 3.92-per-game, with a red card shown every 8.2 matches.

Taylor is associated with the Cheshire County Football Association and has been part of the Select Group of Premier League referees since 2010.

He was promoted to FIFA's list for European and International matches in 2013.
