Liverpool: VL's August 2017 Player Of The Month

Who has won the Vital Liverpool Player of the Month award for Premier League performances during August 2017?...

Liverpool have enjoyed an unbeaten start to the new season with two wins, including a 4-0 thumping of Arsenal, and a draw from their opening three Premier League matches.

Wins in both legs of the club's Champions League play-off with Hoffenheim have added to the early season optimism surrounding Anfield.

All five matches were played without star man Philippe Coutinho as Barcelona unsuccessfully attempted to lure the Brazilian to Spain.

In his absence, a front three of new signing Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mané and Roberto Firmino shone, with the trio all contributing as the Reds netted eight times in the league and 14 overall.

At the other end, Jürgen Klopp's side responded to an error-strewn opening day 3-3 draw at Watford with back-to-back clean sheets against Crystal Palace and the Gunners.

The Vital Liverpool Player of the Month is determined by the accumulative votes cast in the individual MOTM awards for each Premier League fixture. In the event of no clear winner, the editor has the deciding vote.

Vital Liverpool's Player of the Month for April 2017 is » Sadio Mané «
