Which players are likely to be unavailable when Liverpool take on Crystal Palace this weekend?...

Liverpool's early season injury woes have lessened to a degree with the news that striker Daniel Sturridge will be available for the visit of Crystal Palace on Saturday.

The England international has been missing with a thigh problem that curtailed an otherwise promising pre-season campaign in the 3-0 Audi Cup victory over Bayern Munich on August 1.

Elsewhere though, key man Philippe Coutinho remains on the sidelines due to a back issue (and/or his desire to join Barcelona), while fellow creative midfielder Adam Lallana is a longer-term absentee with a serious thigh injury.

Full-back Nathaniel Clyne also remains out as he continues to struggle to overcome a hamstring strain.

Possible Liverpool X1

Reds boss Jurgen Klopp, buoyed by the midweek victory over Hoffenheim in the Champions League play-offs, is unlikely to make many, if any, alterations to the starting X1 he has selected for both competitive games played so far this term.

James Milner could be the one exception with the club's versatile vice captain a possible replacement for either Alberto Moreno at left-back or Georginio Wijnaldum in the centre of midfield.

Like Liverpool, Crystal Palace will be minus their star player this weekend after Wilfried Zaha was ruled out for around a month with a knee injury sustained in the opening day home defeat to newly-promoted Huddersfield Town.

Also unavailable to new Eagles boss Frank de Boer are Bakary Sako (muscular) and Connor Wickham (ACL).

Pape Souaré, meanwhile, is unlikely to be considered for the time being despite returning to full training 11 months on from breaking his leg in a car crash.

Neither side has any players missing through suspension.
