Liverpool FC and Western Union have announced a multi-year partnership that will see Western Union become LFC's first-ever official shirt-sleeve sponsor. The deal, rumoured to be worth £25million over five years, also sees the money transfer company become an official principal partner and the official money transfer partner of the club.

Ahead of Saturday's first match of the new Premier League season against Watford, Reds boss Jürgen Klopp has revealed what this week's preparations will entail. "We have to get a little bit of fresh legs back, but that will happen," the manager told Liverpoolfc.com following a busy pre-season programme. "Tactical things - we'll have an exact look at what Watford will ask of us system-wise and things like this; preparation and preparation. We will be prepared and hopefully it's good enough to win. I'm excited. I've been looking forward to the first game since we started pre-season. I'm not the best in pre-season - I'm not very patient. I'm happy that we can start."

Klopp also reflected on the Champions League play-off draw, which pitted his team against Hoffenheim. "When you are fourth in Germany you are a strong side," remarked the ex-Borussia Dortmund man. "It's a very interesting club. They have a lot of really good young players. They lost two of them - [Sebastian] Rudy and [Niklas] Sule to Bayern - and had a little change. [They have] a very young manager, just 30 years old, a very talented man. That's a real challenge but I'm looking forward to it. First we'll play Watford but at the same time we'll start preparing for Hoffenheim and it's really exciting."

Tickets for the home leg, to be played on Wednesday August 23, kick off 7.45pm, go on sale from 9.15am today (Wednesday 9 August) starting with Priority Rights Holders. Ticket prices for adults, over 65s and young adults start from as little as £9 while juniors cost just £5. For full details click here.

Liverpool's new first team physio, Christopher Rohrbeck, has spoken about his decision to join the Reds after 14 years with FSV Mainz. "Of course the fact it was Liverpool appealed to me with the size and stature of the club," commented Rohrbeck to the official website. "But Jürgen told me I'd be joining a group of players and staff that are a perfect group. For me, that was the most important point because I would be working with them all of the time."

Work to ready Anfield Stadium for the 2017/18 campaign is nearing completion after more than 70 construction projects were undertaken during the close season. Much of the changes and improvements are for the benefit of disabled supporters, including a significant increase to wheelchair access and capacity, while there has also been new seating added in the Kop, a new pitch laid and a new flagship retail store built.

Liverpool U23s have been drawn alongside PSV Eindhoven, Newcastle United and Sparta Prague in the group stages of the Premier League International Cup. The competition, which consists of 12 Premier League 2 teams and 12 U23 sides from elite academies across Europe, sees teams split into six groups of four with the six group winners and the two best runners-up qualifying for the knockout rounds. The action gets underway in November.

The U23s concluded their preparations for the upcoming Premier League 2 season, which begins at Swansea City later this week, with a 1-0 friendly defeat to Welsh outfit TNS on Friday afternoon. A youthful Reds line-up, featuring Brazilian youngster Allan Rodriguez de Souza, dominated large periods of the contest but were undone by a late sucker punch. LFC U23s: Grabara, Whelan, Hart (Juanma, 60'), Phillips (Johnston, 75'), Jones (Masterson, 75'), Williams (Parker, 75'), Adekanye, Virtue (Alves, 65'), Dhanda (Brewster, 65'), Allan (Kane, 45'), Brannagan.

Striking starlet Rhian Brewster made his comeback from a broken foot in the encounter and the 17-year-old was on target for the U18s 24 hours later. Unfortunately it counted for little in the wider scheme of things as the junior Reds went down 4-2 to Leicester City in a pre-season friendly at the Kirkby Academy. Adam Lewis netted a penalty for Steven Gerrard's side.

Liverpool Ladies will begin their 2017/18 FA Women's Super League campaign with a Merseyside derby against Everton Ladies at the Select Security Stadium on Sunday September 24. The female Reds will conclude their campaign at home to reigning WSL Spring Series champions Chelsea Ladies on May 20. Click here for the full fixture list.

Scott Rogers' side will have a European champion in their ranks after Shanice Van De Sanden helped the Netherlands to win the UEFA Women's European Championship on Sunday. The winger provided an assist as the host nation came from 1-0 down to secure a 4-2 victory over Denmark.

Liverpool has been crowned the 'UK's Greatest Sporting City for 2017' in a study carried out by ESPN and the University of Bath. Liverpool took the honours after consistently scoring highly in the 12 categories judged, including choice (second), venues (third), history (third) and community and social (both fourth).
