Reds starlet Ben Woodburn is in the running for the prestigious European Golden Boy award. The 17-year-old has made eight first team appearances this season and became the youngest goalscorer in Reds history when he netted in a League Cup tie with Leeds United. Vote for the Welsh teenager here.

Liverpool's Premier League fixture at West Ham United next month has been rescheduled for live television coverage by Sky Sports. The club's penultimate game of the season is now set for a 2.15pm BST kick-off on Sunday, May 14.

Following the weekend win at West Bromwich Albion, Emre Can has praised the performances of midfield partner Georginio Wijnaldum. The Germany international told the official website: "He's a very, very important player for us, because he is the link man. He is doing it very well. He's strong as well, a very strong guy. He can play, he is a very good footballer, but defensively he is working very well [too]. He has done brilliantly for us so far this season. He has played very well. He is not 'eye-catching' sometimes but he is doing the dirty work for us. He is a very important player."

In an interview with German publication SportBild, summer recruit Joël Matip has been discussing the challenge of finding the right tactical balance in the Premier League. The former Schalke defender remarked: "We know that we have to improve our defence. But it's also the style of play which makes it difficult in England. It's up and down all the time, and the tactical systems sometimes go to pieces. You are vulnerable, and you especially see that with teams like us who are strong going forward. But thank God we also score the most goals."

Knee injury victim Sadio Mané has thanked fans for their support and promised to return to action better than ever next season. The Senegalese star told Liverpoolfc.com: "It's great that I have received so many encouraging messages from fans around the world, particularly on social media. It makes me proud and gives me so much power that so many supporters of Liverpool FC and Senegal give me such great support. I'd like to say thank you to everyone. I will give my very best after yesterday's successful surgery to be back on the pitch as soon as possible and be even better than before."

Kop boss Jürgen Klopp has revealed that Steven Gerrard is set to take charge of an Academy team next season. The club's former captain returned to the club earlier this year in a wide-ranging coaching role but now looks set for his first step into management. The ex-Borussia Dortmund coach, in quotes published by the official website, remarked: "He is doing a real job at the Academy at the moment with his presence and everything, being around and giving advice and leading little or bigger sessions and all that stuff. They all enjoy it a lot. He especially enjoys it a lot... Yes, he will be the coach of a youth team next season, I'm pretty sure. But we will tell you exactly which team when we want to tell you."

Liverpool U23s scored three times in the second half to record a 3-1 victory over Leicester City on Monday afternoon. The young Reds trailed at the interval to a contentious goal converted by Josh Gordon, but strikes from Rhian Brewster, Matty Virtue and Harry Wilson turned the Premier League 2 game in favour of the visitors. LFC U23s: Kelleher, Alexander-Arnold, Whelan, N Phillips, Gomez, J Williams, Wilson, Virtue, Brewster, Woodburn, Hart. Substitutes: M Gomes, Firth, Parker, Lattie, Blair.

Also on Monday, Liverpool Ladies were narrowly beaten in their FA Cup semi-final tie with Manchester City Women. Melissa Lawley scored the only goal of the game as the reigning Women's Super League champions booked a place in the final. Kate Longhurst went closest for the visitors with a cross-cum-shot that struck the woodwork in the opening minutes. LFC Ladies: Chamberlain, Hodson, Bonner, Stoney, Greenwood, Ingle, Longhurst, Zelem, Charles, Harding, Van de Sanden. Substitutes: Gibbons, Weir, Johnson, Rodgers, Taylor.

Ahead of the Spring Series, which begins this weekend, Scott Rodgers' side have announced a shirt sponsorship deal with iconic women's beauty and cosmetics company, Avon Products Inc. The three-year agreement is the first of its kind for LLFC and will see Avon become the first independent shirt sponsor to grace the front of their shirt.

Midfielder Caroline Weir has been nominated for both the Women's PFA Players' Player of the Year and Women's PFA Young Player of the Year awards for 2017. The winners will be announced at the 44th PFA Awards at the Grosvenor House in London this Sunday.
