Liverpool: Ref Watch 16/17 - West Brom (Away)

The lowdown on the man in the middle for Liverpool's trip to West Bromwich Albion on Sunday...

The Premier League has announced the officiating teams who will be taking charge of top-flight fixtures during Matchweek 33 of the 2016/17 season.

The players of Liverpool and West Bromwich Albion, who meet at the Hawthorns for a 1.30pm BST kick-off on Sunday, April 16, will be joined on the pitch by referee Jonathan Moss.

Andy Halliday and Constantine Hatzidakis are his designated assistants, while Kevin Friend will be patrolling the technical areas in the role of fourth official.

Liverpool recorded a 3-0 away victory over Middlesbrough on December 14 in their only previous league game overseen by Moss this season (one yellow card shown to Middlesbrough).

The Reds also had success against Tottenham Hotspur in the EFL Cup with the 46-year-old in charge (five yellow cards shown, three to Liverpool), whereas West Brom weren't so fortunate; crashing out of the competition 2-1 at home to Derby County on January 7 (three yellow cards shown, one to West Brom).

Overall, in his 31 matches refereed in all competitions this term, the Sunderland-native has handed out a total of 117 yellow cards and three red.

His current yellow card average stands at 3.77-per-game, with a red card shown every 10.33 matches.

Moss is associated with the West Riding County Football Association and has been part of the Select Group of Premier League referees since 2011.
