Liverpool: Ref Watch 16/17 - Man City (Away)
The lowdown on the man in the middle for Liverpool's trip to Manchester City on Sunday...
The Premier League has announced the officiating teams who will be taking charge of top-flight fixtures during Matchweek 29 of the 2016/17 season.
The players of Liverpool and Manchester City, who meet at the Etihad for a 4.30pm GMT kick-off on Sunday, March 19, will be joined on the pitch by referee Michael Oliver.
Stuart Burt and Stephen Child are his designated assistants, while Craig Pawson will be patrolling the technical areas in the role of fourth official.
Liverpool have predominantly been successful in their six previous encounters with Oliver this season; wining four, drawing one and losing one.
The defeat, however, was the most recent of the six matches and came against a rejuvenated Leicester City at the end of last month (no cards shown).
Weekend opponents City beat West Ham United 5-0 at the Olympic Stadium when they last participated in a game officiated by the 32-year-old on January 6 (no cards shown).
Overall, in his 32 matches refereed in all competitions this term, the Ashington-native has handed out a total of 97 yellow cards and three red. His current yellow card average stands at a relatively low 3.03-per-game, with a red card shown every 10.66 matches.
Oliver is associated with the Northumberland Football Association and has been part of the Select Group of Premier League referees since 2010.
He was promoted to FIFA's list for European and International matches in 2012.
