Liverpool: Wilson Pens First Pro Deal

Talented youngster Harry Wilson has agreed terms on his first professional contract with Liverpool...

Liverpool starlet Harry Wilson is now a fully fledged professional at Anfield after penning his first senior contract.

The highly-regarded 17-year-old rose to national prominence in October by becoming the youngest ever Welshman to play in a full international.

Wilson's substitute appearance at the age of 16 years and 207 days against Belgium also made him Liverpool's youngest international of all time.

It was an extra special occasion for the player's family with grandfather Peter Edwards netting around £125,000 for a £50 bet he had placed on Wilson becoming an international footballer, when he was just 18 months old.

The left winger is a regular for his club at under-18 level but is yet to feature in Brendan Rodgers' first team plans.

Most observers expect that will happen at some point soon with Wilson possessing skill and technique above and beyond that of the majority of his youth team contemporaries.

Wilson has been apart of the club's Academy since the age of 10 and expressed his happiness at prolonging the stay via Twitter.

"Delighted to have signed my first professional contract with Liverpool Football Club," tweeted the Wrexham-born wideman.

Wilson could feature in the senior setup during pre-season with a number of established players set to return late after performing at the World Cup.

Elsewhere, Spanish midfielders Pedro Chirivella and Sergi Canos, both aged 17, have also penned inaugural pro deals.

The duo arrived last summer; Chirivella came from Valencia and the gifted Canos was snapped up from Barcelona.
