Liverpool: Your 2013-14 Season Ratings

Our poll asking Vital Liverpool users to grade Liverpool's season sees over 50% give Brendan Rodgers and his men full marks...

With the dust settled on an amazing 2013-14 season we at Vital Liverpool were intrigued to see how fellow Reds viewed the campaign.

Manager Brendan Rodgers achieved the club's primary aim of returning to the Champions League in style but agonisingly missed out on the title to Manchester City by two points.

Exciting and swashbuckling going forward, Liverpool leaked goals at the back with alarming regularity but to many supporters that just added to the excitement.

Early elimination from both domestic cups, albeit away to Manchester United and Arsenal, also made the campaign hard to judge despite the impressive second-place Premier League finish.

VL editor Gavin John Day rated the season 8/10 in his Season Review feature, saying: "To jump from seventh to second, especially to do so with such a youthful team containing a strong base of British players, is remarkable."

He later explained in the comments section that he couldn't mark higher, despite it being 'a privilege to watch Liverpool play' this past season, because ultimately the club had won nothing and there were obvious improvements that could be made.

Only 10% of our users who voted have agreed however with a whopping 58% instead rating the season 10/10 and 12% going for 9/10.

2% graded the campaign 7/10 which was either less or equal to the votes cast for 6/10, 5/10 and 4/10.

We can only assume the 10% who went with 4/10 know nothing about the game or, more likely, are fans of rival clubs looking to skew the vote.

Unsurprisingly nobody cast a vote for 3/10 or lower.

The poll ran for two weeks following the final whistle of the season ending game against Newcastle United.
