Liverpool: Striker Few Knew Existed Leaves
Virtually unknown Liverpool youth Armin Hodzic has left the club and joined Dinamo Zagreb...
Promising forward Armin Hodzic has departed Liverpool and signed a five-year contract with Croatian side Dinamo Zagreb.
The 19-year-old arrived on Merseyside from Zeljeznicar Sarajevo in May 2011 for a reported fee of €150,000.
However, as a result of injuries and work permit issues, he never played in a competitive game at any level for the Reds.
Appearances were instead restricted to a handful of friendlies with the U18s and reserves as the Bosnian youth international spent the majority of his time back on loan with Zeljeznicar.
There he scored 18 times in 45 league matches across the past two seasons, helping Zeljeznicar to the Premier Liga title in 2012-13.
Hodzic ended the 2013-14 season with four goals in the last six fixtures, netting in the final two matches in succession.
Such exploits have tempted Dinamo to secure his services on a long-term deal.
"I'm happy that I will be able to play for Dinamo, I will be part of the best club in this region," commented Hodzic to his new club's official website.
"I will do my best, that is all I can promise to the fans right now. I will try to justify the confidence that the club has given me."
