Liverpool: LFC vs. Newcastle Team News

The line-ups are in ahead of the Premier League fixture between Liverpool and Newcastle United at Anfield this afternoon...

The 2013-14 Premier League season draws to a close this afternoon with Liverpool expected to finish second but still dreaming of a first league championship in 24 years.

To achieve such a feat the Reds need to beat opponents Newcastle United and hope West Ham United produce a shock win at leaders Manchester City.

Kop boss Brendan Rodgers has made two changes from the side which threw away a three-goal lead when drawing with Crystal Palace last week.

Jordan Henderson returns from suspension and replaces Lucas Leiva, while vice-captain Daniel Agger is preferred to Mamadou Sakho at centre-back.

For the visitors, French internationals Hatem Ben Arfa and Loic Remy are both overlooked as veteran forward Shola Ameobi starts.

At the time of writing, 86% of Vital Liverpool users who voted in our prediction poll have gone for a Liverpool win. 7% have plumped for the Magpies while a further 7% envisage a draw.

The game is scheduled for a 3.00pm BST kick-off and will be broadcast live in the UK on Sky Sports.

Well done Liverpool, but I have to say I'd have more respect for your play if it didn't depend on Suarez winning so many debatable free kicks. His over the top antics when challenged is pretty stomach churning.
