Liverpool: VL's March Player Of The Month

Liverpool: VL's March Player Of The Month

Who has won the Vital Liverpool Player of the Month award for Premier League performances during March 2014?...

Liverpool have enjoyed another stellar month and subsequently surged to the top of the Barclays Premier League.

Five wins from five during March has taken the club's run of consecutive league victories to eight and they remain undefeated throughout 2014.

The highlight of the month was undoubtedly the 3-0 victory at the home of bitter rivals Manchester United but, at this late stage of the season, every game is equally important.

It was also another high-scoring period with 18 goals scored, including six in one game (against Cardiff City). Defensively there were also three clean sheets to cheer.

Top-scorer Luis Suarez contributed six of the goals netted, notching his sixth Liverpool hat-trick in the process.

Elsewhere there were notable individual performances from the likes of Steven Gerrard, Philippe Coutinho, Jon Flanagan, and Martin Skrtel.

If the choice was mine I'd given it to Gerrard. As strange as it sounds for a man who scored six times in five games, Suarez, although still impressive, was below his usual imperious standards. Flanagan, Coutinho and Sterling had great game(s) but for consistency it has to be the captain. - Editor

Gerrard has won the official website's Player of the Month award so it seems I wasn't alone in my thinking :-)
