Liverpool: VL's February Player Of The Month

Liverpool: VL's February Player Of The Month

Who has won the Vital Liverpool Player of the Month award for Premier League performances during February 2014?...

Liverpool have enjoyed an unbeaten month in the Premier League, although they were disappointingly knocked out of the FA Cup by Arsenal at The Emirates.

On that day, the Gunners, aided by a contentious refereeing decision, gained a degree of revenge for being embarrassed eight days prior when the Reds thumped them 5-1 in the league.

Many observers described Liverpool's performance on that day as the best of any club this season.

Brendan Rodgers' side also registered high-scoring wins over Swansea City (4-3) and Fulham (2-3) during February.

The other match, against West Bromwich Albion, should also have ended in victory but a glaring error from Kolo Toure gifted the Baggies a point.

Defensively it was another tough month with the club conceding a total of seven goals in their four league games and failing to keep a clean sheet.

Fortunately we remained a potent attacking force and scored an impressive 13 times with Daniel Sturridge netting at least once in each game. The England international now has ten in his last eight Premier League appearances.

The total of 10 points from 12 has helped the Merseysiders extend their buffer over fifth to six points and they now trail the leaders (Chelsea) by just four points.

In addition to Sturridge, there were also some noticeable individual performances from the likes of Raheem Sterling, Jordan Henderson, Steven Gerrard and Martin Skrtel.

There can be only one overall winner though...
