Liverpool: Lawro Predicts Bournemouth Result

What scoreline has former Reds defender Mark Lawrenson plumped for in the latest edition of his prediction feature?...

Ex-Anfield centre-back turned media pundit Mark Lawrenson has expressed his thoughts ahead of Liverpool's fourth round FA Cup trip to Championship side Bournemouth on Saturday.

Writing in his regular 'Lawro Predicts' column for the BBC, the 56-year-old expects the Reds to avoid a shock.

Here's what he had to say in full...

"This is a great game for Bournemouth and their fans, and I would expect them to have a real go at Liverpool. It should make for an exciting tie.

"But if Reds boss Brendan Rodgers picks a strong team then they should have enough about them to go to Dean Court and win.

"Rodgers does not have to worry about European competition this season so I think he should go for it in the FA Cup. Why not try to win a trophy?"

Lawro's prediction: 2-0

Vital Liverpool Prediction
As Lawro alludes to, a lot will depend on the team Rodgers selects. Based on the amount of injuries we have currently, and with a crucial league match against Everton upcoming on Tuesday, I can see him changing things markedly.

Reserve goalkeeper Brad Jones will definitely be in goal and there could also be places for youngsters Brad Smith, Jordan Ibe, Jordan Rossiter and Cameron Brannagan.

Also in line for rare appearances will be squad players Luis Alberto, Victor Moses and Iago Aspas.

Bournemouth are a good side so a shock is certainly not beyond the realms of possibility. I think this one could go to a replay.

Vital Liverpool prediction: 2-2
