Liverpool: United Cup Date Confirmed

The date and kick-off time of Liverpool's Capital One Cup clash with Manchester United has been announced...

The Capital One Cup third round fixture between Liverpool and bitter rivals Manchester United will take place on Wednesday 25th September.

Kick-off time at Old Trafford is scheduled for 7.45pm GMT and the tie will be broadcast live in the UK by Sky Sports.

Liverpool qualified for this stage of the competition by defeating plucky League One outfit Notts County 4-2 after extra-time last month.

Due to their participation in European football, Premier League champions United are yet to play a League Cup match this campaign.

The near neighbours met in the league this past weekend and the Merseysiders prevailled 1-0 thanks to a Daniel Sturridge header.
