Liverpool: Mukendi Joins Partick Thistle

Academy striker Henoc Mukendi has moved to Scotland on a temporary loan deal until 1st January 2014...

19-year-old Liverpool striker Henoc Mukendi has joined newly promoted Scottish Premier League side Partick Thistle on a six-month loan.

The Jags earned promotion to the top flight by winning the Scottish First Division last season; finishing a full 11 points clear of closest rivals Greenock Morton.

DR Congo-born Mukendi has been with Liverpool since 2007 and spent the beginning of last season on loan at League Two side Northampton Town where he featured 11 times and scored once.

International clearance for the move is expected to be completed in time for the forward, who can also play wide left, to feature in tomorrow's friendly with Arbroath.

Mukendi becomes the third Red to leave on loan in recent weeks following the temporary departures of Michael Ngoo and Suso.

Meanwhile, the player's Academy team-mate Ryan McLaughlin has signed a new contract with the club.

Like Mikendi, the Northern Irish full-back is yet to make his senior debut but has international experience at youth level.
