Liverpool: March's Player Of The Month

Liverpool: March's Player Of The Month

Who has won the Vital Liverpool Player Of The Month award for Premier League performances during March?...

Liverpool FC played four Premier League fixtures during the month of March and impressed with three victories, but there was also a notable blip against Southampton.

The month started with the Reds continuing their winning ways from February with a 4-0 win at Wigan Athletic and a notable 3-2 Anfield triumph over the much-fancied Tottenham Hotspur.

The results and performances at that stage made the manner of the 3-1 defeat which followed at St Mary's all the more bewildering. On that day Brendan Rodgers' side were truly awful.

Thanfully, after the international break, the Merseysiders showed much more fight in overturning a half-time deficit to defeat struggling Aston Villa in yet another away fixture.

As well as nine points from a possible 12, the past month produced 10 goals with the league's top scorer Luis Suarez netting four including a hat-trick against Wigan.

Also amongst the goals and making notable contributions on a consistent basis were Steven Gerrard, Stewart Downing and Philippe Coutinho.

Defensively the side continued to struggle with six goals conceded, leaving many observers to call for defensive reinforcements over the summer.

March's Vital Liverpool Player Of The Month as voted for by site users is Luis Suarez
