Liverpool: Eight Reds in Latest England Squads

Three Lions manager Roy Hodgson has named his 24-man squad to face Brazil next week and it contains three Liverpool players...

Wednesday's prestigious friendly against Brazil at Wembley will provide England with a tough warm-up ahead of next month's World Cup qualifiers in San Marino and Montenegro.

Captain Steven Gerrard heads the Liverpool contingent selected with Glen Johnson and new signing Daniel Sturridge also named.

Reds winger Raheem Sterling, who made his full debut in the recent friendly against Sweden, drops down to Stuart Pearce's U21 side where he is joined by four clubmates.

Andre Wisdom, Jack Robinson, Jordan Henderson and Jonjo Shelvey are the other Liverpool men in the squad to face Sweden on Tuesday night.

Goalkeepers: Jack Butland, Joe Hart.

Defenders: Leighton Baines, Gary Cahill, Ashley Cole, Phil Jagielka, Glen Johnson, Joleon Lescott, Chris Smalling, Kyle Walker.

Midfielders: Michael Carrick, Tom Cleverley, Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard, Aaron Lennon, James Milner, Leon Osman, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Jack Wilshere.

Forwards: Jermain Defoe, Wayne Rooney, Daniel Sturridge, Theo Walcott, Daniel Welbeck.

England U21 squad
Goalkeepers: Ben Amos, Declan Rudd, Jason Steele.

Defenders: Ryan Bennett, Nathaniel Clyne, Craig Dawson, Phil Jones, Tom Lees, Jack Robinson, Luke Shaw, Adam Smith, Andre Wisdom.

Midfielders: Nat Chalobah, Jordan Henderson, Will Hughes, Henri Lansbury, Jason Lowe, Josh McEachran, Jonjo Shelvey, Raheem Sterling.

Forwards: Benik Afobe, Tom Ince, Connor Wickham, Wilfred Zaha.

Sadly after his exploits against Man City on Sunday, Daniel Sturridge has pulled out of the England squad because of a thigh injury. The decision is thought to be precautionary with the club hopeful he'll be fit to face West Brom next Monday night.
