Liverpool: December's Player Of The Month

Who has won the Vital Liverpool Player Of The Month award for Premier League performances during December?...

December was yet another up-and-down month in the Premier League for Liverpool FC. From six games played Brendan Rodgers and his team won four but lost two. Disappointingly one of those defeats was a surprising 3-1 reverse to struggling Aston Villa at Anfield.

There were plenty of goals on show from a team which had generally struggled to find the net consistently in the earlier part of the season. The Reds scored three or more on three occasions during December with the biggest margin of victory a 4-0 triumph over Fulham.

Unfortunately the Reds also conceded more than usual with a total of eight finding their way past Pepe Reina and co during the six matches.

There were a number of individuals who impressed with captain Steven Gerrard enjoying a welcome return to form and consistency. The much-maligned Stewart Downing also turned in a couple of impressive displays with his versatility an unexpected bonus for the team.

However there can be only one winner and this time the accolade goes to Luis Suarez. The Uruguayan striker scored twice against Queens Park Rangers and, despite missing the game against West Ham United through suspension, was influential throughout the month turning in a number of eye-catching displays and winning two individual MOTM awards along the way.

December's Vital Liverpool Player Of The Month as voted for by site users is LUIS SUAREZ
