Liverpool: Reds Draw Zenit In Europa

Liverpool face a tricky looking tie against Zenit St Petersburg in the next round of the Europa League...

Liverpool have been pitted against Russian outfit Zenit St Petersburg in the last 32 of this season's Europa League.

The Reds, who were seeded in the draw made today in Nyon, will be away in the first-leg which is to be played on 14th February 2013 with the return at Anfield seven days later.

Should Liverpool progress then the winner of the tie between Basel and Ukrainian unknowns Dnipro will stand between them and a place in the quarter-finals. The matches at this stage of the competition will be contested on 7th and 14th March 2013.

Brendan Rodgers and his side reached the knockout phase courtesy of topping Group A ahead of Anzhi Makhachkala, another team from Russia. The group also featured plucky Swiss side Young Boys and Italians Udinese.
