Liverpool FC have publicly backed Hillsborough campaigner Anne Williams' calls to get a new enquiry into her son's death as a matter of urgency. Anne, whose son Kevin was one of the 96 killed in the 1989 Hillsborough tragedy, has been diagnosed with terminal cancer and deserves to see justice completed during her lifetime. The e-petition set up for this matter needs 100,000 signatures to be considered for debate in Parliament. Click here to add your support.
Liverpool and England skipper Steven Gerrard is still in line to win his 100th cap against Sweden tomorrow night (Wednesday 14th November). The 32-year-old had a precautionary scan on a knee injury suffered in Sunday's 1-1 draw with Chelsea but has been given the all-clear to take part.
Unfortunately club colleague Jonjo Shelvey will not be adding to the first cap he won last month against San Marino. The 20-year-old has been ruled out of the Three Lions' trip to Scandinavia with the thigh problem that also caused him to miss the Reds' most recent league fixture. The club are hopeful the injury is not too serious however.
Luis Suarez's header at Stamford Bridge took him joint top of the Barclays Premier League scoring charts - the Uruguayan's tally of eight goals is level with Manchester United's Robin van Persie. He now has an impressive total of 11 in all competitions so far this season.
18-year-old starlet Suso has been named in the Spain U21 squad for a first time. The young Spaniards have a match against Italy in Siena tonight (Tuesday 13th November) and upon receiving the call-up Suso tweeted: "I'm really excited to be called up to the U21 team for the friendly in Italy."
Also likely to be in action this evening are defensive duo Jack Robinson and Andre Wisdom plus midfielder Jordan Henderson with the trio all in Stuart Pearce's England U21 squad to face Northern Ireland. The friendly, to be staged at Blackpool's Bloomfield Road, can be seen live in the UK on ESPN from 7pm.
An inexperienced Liverpool U19 side lost 3-0 away to Rosenborg in the NextGen Series on Friday evening (9th November). With many of the groups eligible players away with the first-team for their Europa League match against Anzhi Makhachkala, getting a positive result was always going to be a difficult task. Defeat means Rodolfo Borrell's side have now lost all three group games so far and qualification looks unlikely. Liverpool team: Fulton, McLaughlin, Maguire, Jones, Sokolik, Roddan, Ibe (Sinclair 76), Pelosi, Peterson, Adorjan, Gainford (Lussey 56).
For the NextGen youngsters, who finished 3rd in the competition last season, to stand a chance of qualifying for the next round they will need to defeat Rosenborg in the return fixture at St Helens Langtree Park tonight (Tuesday 13th November). Admission is just £5 and kick-off is at 7pm GMT.
Liverpool FC have announced ticket details for the upcoming Europa League fixture with Young Boys of Switzerland. The potentially crucial Group A tie at Anfield on Thursday 22nd November will see the whole stadium ticketed with prices ranging from £17-£30 for adults and just £5 for juniors. Over 65 and disabled concessionary prices will also apply. Click here for more details.
Martin Skrtel was crowned the Northwest Football Awards Player of the Year for 2012 last night (Monday 12th November). The Slovakian defender piped the likes of Vincent Kompany and Antonio Valencia to the accolade whilst defensive team mate Martin Kelly received the Rising Star accolade. Skrtel was previously awarded the club's official player of the year award.
Skrtel's regular defensive partner Daniel Agger has also been amongst the awards this week. The 27-year-old became Denmark's Player of the Year for a second time after previously scooping the prize in 2008.
