Liverpool: Going Nowhere
Tom Hicks have moved to reassure Liverpool fans that none of the clubs top stars will be sold even if we did happen to crash out of the Champions League, as seems likely. The loss of revenue has seen some concerned that elimination from the CL at the Group stages would mean star names had to be sold, however this isn't going to be the case according to the American, as he explained to the Sunday Mirror:
'None of our star players will be sold, regardless of results. The club is doing very well due to rapidly growing commercial revenues.
'We have significant investor interest and want to make sure that we pick high-quality partners.
'We are happy with the way things are going financially but we hoped things would be better on the pitch.'
In my honest opinion I have to agree with Hicks and do feel that selling star names wouldn't happen as it wouldn't help anyway, however I would be very concerned about this happening should we fail to make the CL next season as this would be disastrous financially for the Reds and I'd also suspect that those partners we are looking to would also be less interested if we did miss the CL.

Seems to be a sensitive issue for you JT as we didn’t even have to bring it up this time but no matter how indifferent you try to act about our CL trophies I’m sure its killing your club and you that you spent all that money and keep firing and hiring CL win coaches to in the hope that one day your little club can say we have a European cup like the rest of the big boys. Let me put in into perspective how little your comments means to us. Liverpool, ManYoo, Barca, Madrid, Milan, Juventus and Bayern Munich have all won it and that’s why when you travel around the world from the richest to the poorest countries you will see a kid playing in one of those shirts or you will notice pubs filling up to the max from Asia, Middle East, Africa North/South America and the rest of Europe when one of those teams plays even if its against a little club. So go on running your mouth but it’s like an amateur boxer with a little bit of success telling Muhammad Ali that his no longer amazing. O you should also know that maybe if you had a great skipper like Gerrard instead a Wa*ker then he could have won you a CL instead of losing it for you cause he was to concerned about fixing his C armband, now run off and go argue with city fans who’s daddy got more money but then again I’m sure you will lose that argument too.

I'd have to agree with Klutch that it seems to be you that thinks about not winning the CL more than we do having won it, which we have and you haven't ;o)
