Babel Admits Fitness Concerns
Ryan Babel has admitted that he has concerns over his match fitness following his return from an ankle injury. The Dutch international, injured on duty with his country last week, returned with a brief appearance against Atletico Madrid on Wednesday and could be drafted in to face Chelsea on Sunday even though he has concerns over his fitness. If called upon though he says that he will do a job, as he explained to Sky Sports News:
'I am not sure [about starting] but of course if the boss needs me I will be 100 per cent.'
Like many others connected to the club the winger knows the importance of this match, and what it could mean to our season, he added:
'We will see how far we are now. We are a little bit unlucky we do not have everybody fit of course, even myself I am not 100 per cent like I am supposed to be.
'No excuses, we will see what happens on Sunday.'

I thought I was having deja-vu on wednesday when I saw a strapping quick black forward up front for us doing absolutely nothing of any great significance for us. It was like Cisse all over again only without the goofy hairstyles. Babel knows that with the arrival of Riera he's going to have to work hard to get into the side, and if he gets chances up front he needs to make more of them than he did in midweek.
